India’s Purav Raja and Divij Sharan saved two match points to lift the doubles title at the $50,000 KPIT-MSLTA Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Challenger being organised by MSLTA at the Mhalunge Balewadi Tennis Complex on Saturday.
Ankita Raina won the $50,000 ITF women’s doubles title with Emily Webley Smith of Britain on Saturday. The Indo-British pair beat Hanyu Guo and Xinyu Jiang of China 6-4, 6-4 in the final, in just over an hour.
Vishnu Vardhan beat Sriram Balaji 6-4, 6-3 in the men’s singles final to add to his doubles title in the $10,000 Justice P.S. Kailasam MGC ITF men’s futures at the PowerPak Tennis Academy here on Saturday.
Another elite Indian tennis pair of Divij Sharan and Purav Raja wins the €42,500 Aegon Surbiton Challenger doubles title on Sunday. The unseeded Indian pair saved three match points to upset the second seeds Ken Skupski and Neal Skupski of Britain 6-3, 3-6, 11-9 in the final of this grasscourt tournament.
