Ramkumar Ramanathan of Tamil Nadu became the new men’s champion and Ankita Raina of Gujarat regained the women’s crown producing almost identical scorelines in the two singles finals of the National grass-court tennis here at the South Club on Saturday.

Paes-Radek end runners-up at US Open

New York: Leander Paes and his Czech Republic partner Radek Stepanek lost to Bryan brothers - Bob and Mike - in the one-sided men's doubles final at the US Open here on Friday.

The Indian-Czech pair could hardly match the prowess of their American counterparts, who won their 12th Grand Slam doubles title by clinching the final 6-3, 6-4 at the Flushing Meadows.
